水府コイノボリプロジェクト『SCOI（スコイ）』は、水府地区の竜神大吊橋で毎年開催されている「こいのぼり祭り」で使用され、ボロボロになり処分されるコイノボリを活用した取り組みです。頭からシッポまでアートしよう！をテーマに地域のメンバーで活動しています。
保育園・幼稚園・小中学校・高校・老人ホームなどの施設や市内外のイベントなどでワークショップを開催したり、常陸太田市特別支援学校と一緒に商品を制作したり、様々な展開をしています。
『SCOI( スコイ )』の商品は、茨城県常陸太田市水府地区の近隣に住むメンバーが手作りしています。ボロボロになったコイノボリを洗濯して、加工しています。汚れや傷、色あせもふくめ、世界にひとつだけのデザインをお楽しみください。
※洗濯はできますが、ひとつひとつ生地が異なりますので、押し洗いをお勧めします。アイロンは、当て布を使用してください。
Scoi is an art project based around the annual Koinobori festival that is held in Suifu at the Ryujinkyo suspension bridge. The Koinobori festival uses thousands of carp streamers (like fish-shaped flags) which inevitably get thrashed around by the wind and rain. At Scoi, we rescue and reuse the poor old carp streamers, turning them into beautiful new items. Our motto is to reuse every part of the streamers from head to tail in various art projects.
We host various workshops at kindergartens, elementary, junior and senior high schools as well as retirement homes and local city-run events. We are also proud to have produced items with students and staff at Hitachi Ota Special Needs School.
All our products are handmade by Scoi members living around Suifu.The Koinobori are washed, cleaned, and manufactured into one-of-a-kind items. We hope you enjoy these unique and beautiful designs. Koinobori(Carp streamers)is a symbol of traditional Japanese children’s festivals.
